The bill is NOT LIVE until tomorrow due to what’s called the aging rule (bills need to age so people get a chance to read and study them) so there is plenty of time to continue pushing for passage.

It’s our understanding the state Senate intends to pass the bill tomorrow. This act is necessary to improve patient care, reduce workforce injuries, and help to reduce overall health care costs in the state.

Improper lifting combined with unsafe patient handling are the leading causes of workplace injury for direct care employees, nurses and other health care professionals. Inadequate training and equipment also endangers the quality of health care and can lead to serious injuries of immobile patients.
