Help wanted

Loraine Rubin of the Nassau BOCES teachers union saw a political cartoon that she wanted to share. She made hundreds of copies to pass out today.

She may run out, so here’s a summary, even though it pains me to tell you it features a new department for the state of Wisconsin: Workforce Degradation.

There are three help wanted ads. Public employees to work for $7.25 per hour with no benefits; the lowest bidder for health care workers will get the job, the only qualification listed is “Must be prepared to grovel on command;” and teachers, willing to work for peanuts and “Contempt for your personal dignity is guaranteed.”

“It’s really not funny, but I think it’s where we are headed,” Rubin said.
