Good news for those in the mid-Hudson Valley who want to come to the April 9th rally in Times Square to support workers’ rights. The Onteora Teachers Association is offering a way to get there.
The bus will leave the NYSUT regional office in Kingston at 8:30 a.m. It will stop at the New Paltz Thruway exit park and ride to pick up people before 9 a.m.
“We are encouraging family, retirees, and our union friends to join us,” Richard DeRuvo, Onteora’s local president said. His goal is to fill a bus and he says he will order another one if needed. So here’s what you need to do:
E-mail Richard at firstname.lastname@example.org with the names, district affiliations and cell phone numbers of each person filling a seat.
Let him know if you will be at the NYSUT’s Kingston office or want to be picked up from the New Paltz exit.
Only reserve seats for those who are definitely coming.
The rally starts at noon at Times Square. These buses the Onteora TA are sponsoring will leave New York City at 7 p.m. to allow folks some time in the city.
Anybody else sponsoring a bus? Let us know and we’ll share the good news.
