The Professional Staff Congress, which is rallying at the Capitol in Albany today to protest proposed state budget cuts to the university, has launched a targeted ad campaign telling lawmakers that they should make education a priority rather than giving tax breaks to the rich. PSC represents 22,000 instructional faculty at CUNY.
The 30-second TV and radio spots celebrate CUNY’s legacy of providing a path to opportunity for generations of working New Yorkers. They began airing last week on broadcast and cable outlets in Albany and New York City during morning and evening news hours.
The spot can also be viewed on at the PSC website. Like NYSUT, PSC supports extension of the so-called “millionaires’ tax” to offset some of the cuts proposed in the executive budget.
