Power to the people – through pizza

Thanks to Carrie Andrews of NYSUT’s Rochester office for this tip about how to help protesters in Wisconsin. Also see this post as well.

Carrie and her mother Joanne drove 13 hours Sunday so they could support workers in Wisconsin.

Joanne Andrews retired this summer after years of teaching French in Seneca Falls.

The labor movement is alive and well in Wisconsin, Carrie says, noting businesses had signs in their windows supporting unions “and the whole community was so supportive.

One view from inside rotunda

“We met teachers from Madison and Milwaukee and union members from the building trades and private sector unions. Everyone was there together….We marched, we chanted…”

Thanks Carrie.
