It’s the 32nd annual School-Related Professionals Leadership Conference this weekend at the Desmond in Albany. I’m thrilled because I get to spend time with some of my favorite folks from across the state. There’s 241 people registered this year from locals stretching across the state. Alphabetically, we’ve got members from the Albany Public School United Employees to Whitesboro Employees Union. Geographically, they’re coming from western New York of Long Island and all parts in between.
The largest contingent is from the United Federation of Teachers: 21 people. But even that is way down because a number of UFTers are attending the One Nation march in Washington, D.C. this weekend.
I would be at the march myself, except I’m already committed to covering this conference and then the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in Syracuse on Sunday.
Too many causes, too little time. Registration has just kicked off at 3:30 p.m. I’m off to say hi.
