The youngest rally participant

Three-month-old Baxter Grey participated in his first rally Saturday. I say first because not only are his parents in the union, so is at least one of his grandparents, so it’s a safe bet he will participate in another, probably soon! Here’s the union lineage. Mother is Sherri Hall, a member and grievance co-chair in [...]

Were you seen?

Good morning! Still catching up on sleep after all that activity and enthusiasm of the 39th annual convention. (So is my computer, it’s so slow this morning. I think it missed me, or it’s angry that I used a rented computer at the Hilton.) We will continue to post photos on our Flickr site. Here’s [...]

Don’t blame teachers, unions

Pat Copertino is on a mission: to promote a growing understanding among union members, and the public as whole, that teachers and unions are not to blame for the economic downturn, for joblessness, for budget cuts. Walking down 6th avenue to Times Square — and me trying not to step off curbs into oncoming traffic [...]

It’s hard to keep up with photos, twitter AND get details to freelancers on Long Island. We have decided to get photos and videos of the NYSUT Solidarity Express so be prepared. Call the Nassau or [...]
