If you don’t already have your blue t-shirt, blue pants or skirt, or even blue hat picked out for the Dec. 9 National Day of Action, start looking. NYSUT is joining a coalition of over 100 other groups to show our support for public education by wearing blue Dec. 9, and we’re hoping you’ll join us. We’re calling for fair funding, a three-year moratorium on high-stakes tests and a renewed focus on teaching, not testing.
Visit the NYSUT website at www.nysut.org/news/2013/november/dec-9-a-national-day-of-action-to-reclaim-the-promise-of-public-education for more information, or to download a free National Day of Action poster. The site also links to free AFT and NEA toolkits that offer great ideas for getting your local Day of Action under way. And don’t forget to share your photos at firstname.lastname@example.org, Facebook.com/nysutunited, and Twitter:@nysut. Let’s show our support for public education in New York by wearing blue!
