Please be patient with us over the next few days.
Most of NYSUT’s website is locked down as we prepare for a brand-spanking-new design, to be unveiled Wednesday.
Wednesday is May 1, which holds great meaning for gardeners and unionists.
We’ve been working toward this for a long time. It started more than a year ago with surveys of our members and focus groups. Our website has not been redesigned for six years. To give you an idea of how long that’s been in this digital age, realize that Twitter was publicly unveiled the summer of 2006 and, in the summer of 2007, it was heralded when it handled 60,000 tweets a day from users. Four months ago, Twitter announced it had surpassed 200 million monthly active users!
We knew we had to offer a more user-friendly and modern-looking website for members and the public.
NYSUT staff have been working with a consultant for months and now it is crunch time. On Wednesday, our goal is to bring you an attractive — and, as always, useful — bouquet of NYSUT’s positions on education, health care and labor issues. Until then, thank you for understanding.
