Saving high school tech

This isn’t about budget cuts.

High school tech at Middleburgh High School was flooded out.

NYSUT Secretary-Treasurer Lee Cutler and staffers Lynette Metz and Dave Adkins met with Middleburgh TA President John Derochie, other officers and technology teachers of the Middleburgh School District Sept. 16.

A 10-foot wave of water wiped out the high school’s entire technology lab and cafeteria.

Scott Gray and David Dickerson both teach technology at the school. There wasn’t anything left in the classrooms as all equipment was removed from the building by the company that the school district hired to clean up the damages.  All equipment had to be tossed, including computers with all lesson plans.

It is estimated this one school in one district needs $150,000 to $200,000 to replace what they had.
