Call 1 (877) 255-9417. You will get to choose to speak with your Senator, Assembly member or
Governor Cuomo’s office. Do all three, because it’s a holiday weekend. You might get through, you might be able to leave a message.
They are prepared to pass the most devastating tax cap in the nation. It would permanently harm
schools, SUNY community colleges and public services in our state.
This weekend you will most likely get voice mail, (until it fills up.) Tell them to vote no on bill, A-
7916 Silver.
Here’s three reasons why this is a bad bill:
- It would let just one vote over 40 percent vote down a school budget.
- It would deeply impact state community colleges, which are funded through their counties, which are already struggling mightily.
- It would widen the achievement gap as those communities that can well afford to support their schools will, and those that are struggling, will find it even more difficult.
